It was a typical Monday, with all that entails.
Capillaries flooded my cheeks as the thoughts were still festering.
Swallowed my coffee with my pride.
Swipe left, swipe right.
It was an everyday Sunday; checked myself in the mirror.
Small talk, blank stare, on your phone, mouth as tight as a snare.
I think lost you in record time.
I WANT TO DIE!
Why do this to myself?
Can’t I just be alone?
Want to cry in my toast.
Why do this to myself?
It was an average Saturday; met you just after nine.
You said “sorry I keep falling asleep, I am just a bit too high.”
You said “dating is so hard on the nerves.”
I MUST BE CURSED!
(Why do this to myself...)
Online dating is killing me.
So why can’t I wait until next week?
It’s a brand new Friday, and I came prepared.
Dating blogs, reddit posts, practiced lines, popped a mint, fixed my hair.
I am ready. I am in the zone...
to drink alone.
The debut LP from Chicago's Lightleak is taut, carefully composed indie rock that doesn't lose any urgency to its intricate arrangements. Bandcamp New & Notable Nov 23, 2021

Merci Déhà for the download code. Lots of bands use these ingredients – pretty female vocals over doomy guitars always sounds good, but usually that's where the ideas run out. That isn't the case here. Each song is packed with ideas and evolutions, genres and references it's boring to list but not at all to listen to. A pleasure to have been introduced to this. Luke
